A Note From Michelle 9-17-26

September 17, 2026

Hi Everyone,

Almost done the week and I'm running from here to there trying to get it all done. I think there will still be a bit of a list by the weekend, but here's hoping I can get all the must do's off the list. The weekend is jam packed so I'm not sure I'll have much time to relax, but hopefully I can squeeze in a few minutes somewhere.

Junior year of high school is starting off full speed ahead. I knew it would be a busy year based on things I have heard and looking at my child's schedule, but my goodness, I was not prepared. I'm getting emails almost every day with college visits happening at school for my child to sign up for, picture day emails (granted it happens every year), homecoming game info and ticket sales, and class ring order information. Class rings? That was NOT on my radar. Nor was it on my list of expenses and this early in the year without warning. Parents, all I can say is from junior year on, it looks like full speed ahead!

My 8th grader also has a fair share of things. Picture Day, Confirmation (not related to school), club officer elections, auditions (one of which she has to learn choreography ahead of the audition and will have less than a week to do it) and the list goes on. I can honestly say, I thought I was prepared to hit the ground running, but this week life has been running faster than I even planned for.

I feel like there has been a challenge for every phase of parenting throughout the years.  The sleepless nights of infancy turn into sleepless nights with teen drivers. The anticipation and taking care of their every need to their independence in which you worry about them getting what they need. The teaching them about the world around them and how to be successful to watching them navigate it on their own not wanting you to tell them how to do things. Each time comes with it's set of excitement and challenges. No matter what season you are navigating as a parent, know it flies by and the challenge you have right now will not be here forever. Cherish the time together and enjoy every moment of your favorite phase of each parenting stage. It goes by too fast.

Have a great week!
Michelle
