Happy October! Where did September go? This start of the school year has flown by and fall is in full swing. It looks like it's time to get out the Halloween decorations. I'll add that to my to-do list for this weekend. I've been debating on switching out clothes and putting away shorts and swapping them for pants, but this crazy weather has me holding out just a bit longer.
It looks like this weekend could be another rainy one. With so many fall events going on, make sure to check with the venue before heading out. You don't want to arrive and find out it is cancelled due to the weather.
How many of you like or dislike spirit weeks at schools? When my kids were in elementary school it was sometimes a bit overwhelming keeping track of all the days and then finding clothing to work for the day. It took a lot of extra planning and time to pull off and get out the door. It was fun for the kids, but definitely extra work for parents. Now that my kids are older, spirit days have changed a bit. I don't have to track what day is what and most of the time, we have what they need somewhere in the house. We've had some repeats and it's been fun to see what each of my children decide to wear. One of my favorites was BBQ Dad/Soccer Mom. Both of my kids did BBQ Dad and it was fun. It's spirit week again and last night, my daughter was modeling the blue bob wig that she got for the occassion. The theme is Blue Out, but with the wig on, she looks like a character from the Inside Out movie. So what has been your favorite spirit day? Do you like them or hate them?
Also in this week's family fun, ordering school pictures. I truly feel like they get more expensive each year. I'm scared to see how much senior photos cost! I remember the laser backgrounds when I was a kid and I know they have brought them back, but I was surprised at what they look like now. You can have your choice of cats or dogs with the lasers. The list of background selections was quite extensive. I personally never got into the laser photos, but this year I was persuaded to add the cat laser background to one of my daughter's photos. Being more of a traditionalist, I also got the classic background as well. But this will be one for the memory books in life!
