A Note From Michelle 10-15-26

October 15, 2026

Hi Everyone,

What a week it has been! On Sunday, I had a run in with a kettlebell and let's say kettlebell - 1 and my foot - 0. Maybe this story would have been better if I said I was crushing my morning workout when it occurred, but no, I was grabbing a bag on my way out the door and it fell and landed on my foot. Great way to start my day/week. Monday, I received the verdict of a hairline fracture of my foot and now we have the newest curveball to life.

I have never been the recipient of such an injury although I have been the caregiver for multiple broken bones for others. My brain went into immediate overdrive working out how I would manage all of my responsibilities as a parent, at work, and everywhere else. The injury could have been a LOT worse, so I am grateful I am mostly able to do what I need to do. Yes, creativity will be involved where needed, but the hope is it won't slow me down too much. Making sure I have my boot on and a shoe on every time I get up to do something is a bit annoying though. It is making me realize, I am barefoot most of the time I'm in the house and I get up and down and don't sit still very much! Neither of those things is ideal with this situation.

I'm hoping things heal quickly and I can be back on my feet (literally) as soon as possible. It's a busy time and I'm not the best at slowing down.

This weekend, I'm setting up a trunk with my daughter for a Trunk or Treat. I ordered a kit to make it easier and because she had a specific theme in mind. I got the kit and it doesn't have anything to attach it to the car with. I'm not sure what I expected, but I have random pieces of cardstock type items and no clue how to get this thing set up. Looks like what I thought would be easy is going to require some research and possibly some practice, but there's not much time for that. Fingers crossed this works out!

I hope your weekend is full of fall family fun! It sounds like it may feel like fall for these upcoming fall events. Have a great week!
